If you haven’t already seen I am kicking around the idea of an Oppo community car (nothing serious but hey you never know!). Here are some requirements for this mythical community car. We will let the community decide.
Sorry my polls are showing up weird everyone.
Try to keep the answers as realistic as possible please. You never know maybe this crazy idea will one day happen.

Dual Clutch 4x4 convertible from italy with 6 cylinders. It’ll be a nice reminder that things could always be worse. I’m not sure if this vehicle exists or not but I’m sure there is something like it deep in the bowels of the FCA back catalogue.

A French 12-cylinder, 4x4 truck with a dual-clutch in the USA

Simple, like that Mustang you have make it an Fairlane/Torino/Gran Torino Sport. It ticks all the boxes.

I voted American V8 RWD auto sedan.
If there is an oppo car at the end of the year, and it isn't an STS-v, I quit oppo.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:12 |

Haha why is country in there twice? I would like the car to be French Japanese please.

Good God the horror...

People voted against wagon?
PERMABAN
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:23 |
|
I doubt it exists but I am sure Lamborghini is close with something like the new SUV they might make
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:24 |
|
That would be crazy expensive
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:24 |
|
That is what I was thinking. Something exactly along those lines and universally loved
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:25 |

I changed it. It was supposed to be price. IDK Kinja is stupid
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:25 |

V12 4x4 US made Wagon with a manuel. Have fun.
Though really, it would probably be a Miata. Though for the price of a Miata you could get a V6 Mustang.

I am among those people against wagon
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:25 |

Or a V8 but it would be very rough

Can’t in good conscience vote because you forgot the single most Jalop/Oppo body style: shooting-brake (or fastback). You also forgot 5-cylinder as an engine option and “hatch-back” as a body style.
RWD, inline 5 cylinder, dual-clutch, shooting-brake from either the UK or Germany.
More realistically though:
4-cyl, automatic, FWD, wagon from Korea for <$5,000 would do as a reliable grocery getter. I won’t be flashy but it’ll save you a fortune on maintenance and gas which you can channel into your 12-cylinder manual RWD project car on weekends.
Now that’s Jalop.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:31 |

I considered adding it but most 5 cylinders are out of reach to buy on a tight budget
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:35 |
|
I edited my post. Also: late 80s/early 90s Audis had 5-cyl engines, no? If you could find one of those in good shape, it could easily be in budget. Just sayin’.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:37 |

Lol the body style poll. Oppo is the only group of people where the first choice after coupe would be wagon.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:37 |
|
Really? I guess I need to brush up on Audi knowledge
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:38 |

That is what I thought too. Such an odd little community we have
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:39 |

Majority of results say USA, 8-cylinder, RWD, Manual, Coupe, $0-$5,000
So, an SN95?

Sorry, didn’t mean to reply to you specifically.

Korean 12 Cylinder Sedan 4x4 automatic. Good luck
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:40 |

That or like a similar vintage Camaro or Firebird would be the best bet. Maybe even a C4 Vette
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:41 |

What kind of parallel universe do you live in?
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:42 |
|
Another thing: you forgot Sweden!
A Volvo 1800ES would be well out of budget but there are a lot of later Volvos that would be so Jalop. (brown, manual, wagon...)
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:42 |
|
The best kind! I’d drive it. And it would not be brown or diesel.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:42 |
|
OMG I knew I would forget an important car making country. SHIT!
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:43 |
|
Yeah I don’t understand the brown diesel movement
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:47 |
|
Me neither. Dark grey has always been my favourite car colour, but having had that on my last two my next vehicle will be something obnoxiously bright.
Diesel I don’t mind in and of itself, I like the 335d and a 2500HD Duramax. But for regular cars there’s not much point. A diesel car is more expensive to buy and to fuel up. Not worth it to me.
I also mostly prefer sedans over wagons and hatchbacks (except Sonic and Fiesta).
![]() 05/04/2015 at 21:57 |

...and if this one isn’t Jalop, I don’t know what is:
Google “slammed Volvo wagon” for a whole world of awesome.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 22:12 |

American RWD Manual V8 for Sub-$2500. Sounds like half of my craigslist searches
![]() 05/04/2015 at 22:13 |
|
Very cool looking and I'm not a wagon guy
![]() 05/04/2015 at 22:39 |
|
You’re going the wrong direction. It’ll be the ATS-V. With AWD. Sub-3.5 to 60?
![]() 05/04/2015 at 22:40 |
|
Would rather have the STS-v
![]() 05/04/2015 at 22:46 |
|
Totes Jalop tho’...
![]() 05/04/2015 at 22:57 |

Fine you pilot the QE2 while the rest of us zip around in 500 horse M4 eaters.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 23:15 |

Obvious answer is obvious...
Notchback Fox Body Mustang with a 5.0 and a T5!
USA - check
8 cylinder - check
RWD - check
Manual - check
Coupe - check
Prices vary but they can be had for $2500...
![]() 05/04/2015 at 23:15 |

Japanese, VTEC, 4 Cyl, Coupe, Manuel, and SH package.
![]() 05/04/2015 at 23:37 |
|
Ugh they're so small.
![]() 05/05/2015 at 01:28 |
|
Exactly what I was thinking too
![]() 05/05/2015 at 01:28 |
|
That would be the answer. Or an SN95
![]() 05/05/2015 at 01:29 |
|
How cheap can these be had for?
![]() 05/05/2015 at 07:58 |
|
True, but I think the Fox Bodies look better...
although I really like the GT Hatchbacks the most
Although the convertibles aren’t half bad either
![]() 05/05/2015 at 08:30 |
|
Decent examples range from $4k-$8k
![]() 05/05/2015 at 10:16 |

The GT hatchbacks look phenomenal. The convertibles tend to be the cleanest
